The Adventurer is the entry-level hat in our range and offers UPF50+ sun protection in a very simple, styled-for-the-wild design. For safari, multi-day adventures, day trips to your favorite trails, or hot days at home, this flat-packable sun hat is the go-to compact, versatile hat for comfort and sun protection. Adjustable. 

Sizing:

• Adjustable internal drawstring within the sweatband helps you to tweak the fit should you need to.

A Wide-Brim Hat in an Expedition-Tested Design:

• The Adventurer is lightweight: S/M weighs 5.3 oz (150g); L/XL weighs: 6 oz (170g); XXL weighs: 6.7 oz (190g).
• 2.75" (7cm) 360-degree, wide brim for best protection from the harmful effects of the sun. Brim measurement for all sizes is from outer edge of the brim to the base of the crown.
• Full canvas crown with snap buttons allow you to wear the brim up if you choose to - simply flip and clip.
• Eyelets on the side of the crown with brass grommets for added ventilation.
• Crown height is 3.7" (9.5cm).
• Made from durable 12-oz safari-grade cotton canvas in safari-suitable colors to make sure you always blend in. Khaki, Dark Brown, & Olive are our recommended hat colors for walking safaris.
• Water repellent finish is applied to the canvas fabric.
• Flat-packable foam brim construction, which adds an element of buoyancy to the hat.
• Adjustable internal drawstring within the sweatband helps you to tweak the fit should you need to.
• Detachable & toggle-adjustable chin strap.
• UPF50+ protection for the full hat due to the full canvas design - as proven in an independent test by Intertek. In the tests, Intertek found that the 'Mean Ultraviolet Protection Factor UPF' score for the hat came to 2,000; and the blocking percentage for the hat is 99.95% for both UV-A and UV-B. This exceeds the 98% threshold for UPF50 and so the rating for this hat is UPF50+. Please always back up the sun protection provided by your hat by using an effective sunscreen lotion or spray.
• Made and styled for men, women - and for older children too. Please use the size chart to determine the size to order for the best fit.
• Packing advice: the Adventurer Hat is made to be flat-packed - and this is how we pack the hat when we travel. Place the hat flat into your luggage and make sure that the brim stays as flat as possible. The canvas crown is packed level with the brim. It is very important that no items crush the brim, nor the crown. Some creasing of the fabric may occur. While it is up to your personal preference, we do not mind if the canvas creases slightly when we travel with the Frontier Full Canvas Hat as, over time, creasing reduces as you wear the hat. After all, the main purpose of the hat is to protect you from the sun, with the flat-pack function adding to the convenience of traveling with this hat.

• To work out which hat will give you the most comfortable fit, simply measure your head at the fullest part where your hat will sit, which will usually be just above your ears. 
• Please use this measurement to determine the best size using the size chart below.
• It is best to select a hat size which has an Inner Crown measurement which is slightly larger than your head size. Inner Crown is the opening of the hat where the sweatband is located. 
• As children's heads grow faster than their bodies, this size chart also applies to boys and girls. 
• Most of our hats also have an adjustable internal drawstring within the sweatband which helps you to tweak the fit should you need to. These hats will say 'Adjustable' in the product description area.
• Please note that canvas hats usually do not stretch at all - and only leather hats will have a very small amount of stretch (approximately 0.39"/1cm).
